Your PTA Funds At Work...
Sixes Elementary PTA
Dear Sixes Elementary Parents,
Each year, the parents of Sixes Elementary School volunteer an enormous amount of collective time, energy and money to support efforts that make Sixes an outstanding school. The Sixes PTA thanks you sincerely for your continued support, particularly during these tough economic times. Below, please find an overview of the many efforts that your on-going support and participation have made possible:
Educational
- Guided Reading – This widely respected reading program benefits and encourages children in all grades and reading levels. The PTA provided $1,000 to fund this program this year.
- Media Center – This year, the PTA contributed $3,000 to purchase a subscription to give students access to every Accelerated Reading test created.
- Classroom Materials – 10% of Boosterthon/Fun Run proceeds will provide Sixes teachers with additional materials in the classroom, which would not have been covered by existing school funds.
- Scholastic Readers – This year, $3,000 was allocated to provide teachers at all grade levels with an opportunity to encourage and motivate students’ interest in current events.
- Kindergarten – This year, the PTA purchased mobile learning stations for the reading centers in the classroom.
- The PTA purchased GCRCT practice test materials for student use. We also purchased math journals and language arts programs for classroom use.

Community Outreach
- The Sixes PTA financially contributed to other organizations to help those in need in our community.
- The PTA held book drives, canned food drives and clothing drives throughout the year to assist those less fortunate in our area.
Administration and Facilities Maintenance
- Student Directory – This useful and much appreciated directory is compiled and funded by the PTA, enabling Sixes families convenient access to student contact information.
- New Playground Equipment –The PTA will provide funds for installation and maintenance; the children will enjoy the additions when they return in August.
- Marquee—PTA funds are allocated to update the look of the marquee, in order to keep parents informed and involved at Sixes.
- Teacher Hospitality – Providing year round efforts to give back to the teachers of Sixes who do so much for our children. The PTA works closely with many of you to provide lunches, breakfasts and other opportunities to show our appreciation.
- Landscaping – PTA funds provided landscaping services to keep the school looking nice.
The legacy of immense parental involvement has been a source of pride at Sixes. As we all know, the level of parental involvement at a school correlates with the academic success of its students. As a result of your continued contributions and participation, our Sixes Stars shine brighter.
Any ideas that will make our Sixes Stars dazzle next year? Or want to become involved in a different capacity? Please look at volunteer opportunities on the Sixes’ Website at
