PTA Day at the Capitol - February 23, 2010
PTA Day at the Capitol provides PTA leaders, members and supporters an opportunity to become more familiar with the legislative process and to actively speak with legislators about education and children’s issues. Develop and put your advocacy skills to work under the Gold Dome and over lunch with your state legislators.  
GA PTA - 13th District Spring Conference – April 17, 2010
The Spring Conference and Awards for Cherokee, Forsyth and Gordon County PTA Units will be held from 4:00 – 9:00 pm. Avery Elementary School in Canton will be host.

 What is an advocate: 
1. one that pleads the cause of another
2. one that defends or maintains a cause or proposal
3. one that supports or promotes the interests of another
 
Who is an advocate: 
All of us are advocates for our children. Collectively, we CAN make a difference.
 
Why do we advocate:
We advocate, letting our voices be heard, regarding issues that affect our children, families, schools and communities. 
 
When do we advocate:
Advocacy is an on-going process. 
 
How do we advocate:
There are many ways to become involved and stay informed about issues affecting our children and schools. Please check-out the many ways you can be involved and make a difference.
