Dear PTA members,
It’s time to accept nominations for PTA officers for the 2009-2010 school year. Our PTA is only as strong as its leadership. Please consider nominating yourself or another PTA member who would like to make a difference at Sixes.
The Nominating Committee is responsible for selecting and presenting the slate of officers at the election meeting scheduled for Wednesday, April 15th, 2009 at 8:00 am. We are now accepting nominees for President, Co-President, 1st Vice President, Vice President of Communications, Vice President of Fundraising, Secretary, and Treasurer. The process will follow the schedule below.
1. Acceptance of Nominations
Deadline for submitting nomination form(s) for officers will be on Wednesday, March 18th, 2009 at 6:00pm. Submissions may be mailed or delivered to the school office or emailed to nominations@sixespta.org but MUST be received by this date. A separate form should be submitted for each person nominated.
2. Candidate Interviews and Evaluations
The Nominating Committee will review all nominations and will contact all nominees by Friday, March 20th to confirm interest and schedule an interview. Interviews will be conducted on Monday, March 23rd. Nominees will be allowed an opportunity to consider any office prior to confirming interest.
3. Selection and Publication of Recommended Candidates
Following their selection, the Nominating Committee will post a list of the recommended candidate for each position. This will be posted on Monday, March 30th, 2009 at the school office as well as on the PTA website (www.sixespta.org).
4. Election Meeting
The Nominating Committee will formally present their list of recommended candidates at the election meeting on Wednesday, April 15th, 2009 at 8:00 am in the Sixes school cafeteria.
Attached are a nomination form and a list of job responsibilities for each position. Forms are also available in the school office at the reception desk and on the Sixes PTA website: www.sixespta.org
