The Cultural
Events Committee has two more shows to present to our Sixes Stars this
year.
Our next show on
Friday, February 15th, will feature
local Author and Storyteller
Carmen Deedy
who will amuse and delight us with tales of childhood and family fun.
Ms. Deedy has recounted her hilarious tales of growing up Cuban in
Decatur, Georgia for over a decade now, as well as classic folk tales
from around the world.
Ms. Deedy is
the author of The Library Dragon, Agatha's Feather Bed, and many other
notable books.
Her newest work,
Martina the
Beautiful Cockroach:
A Cuban
Folktale,
will be available on a pre-sale basis (see link below) to be autographed
after the show. Ms. Deedy has been a regular contributor to National
Public Radio’s “All Things Considered” and “Latino USA” and has
performed throughout the country gathering awards and honors along the
way.
We look forward to
seeing Carmen again this year on Friday,
February 15th in the Media Center.
